1. What are the park hours?

Enterprise South Nature Park’s hours vary throughout the year based on seasonal sunset times.

Current Hours:

Park Hours 7:00 AM  to  8:30 PM

Visitor Center Hours   Monday - Friday  8:00 AM - 5:00 PM      Saturday & Sunday   8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Atlas Bike Trail closes at 8:00 PM

Summit Knobs Horse Trail closes at 7:30 PM

In the event of Park Closure, times and dates will be detailed on the ESNP Calendar, as an Alert which you can access at the top of any page, and/or as a News Flash on the ESNP's main page.

2. What are the visitor center hours?

Visitor Center Hours   Monday - Friday  8:00 AM - 5:00 PM      Saturday & Sunday   8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

3. Does Enterprise South Nature Park have overnight accommodations, campsites, etc. ?

No.

 However, Chester Frost Park has campsites available for overnight accommodation.

4. How many kiosks are in the park?

There are eight kiosks located throughout Enterprise South Nature Park.  

5. Can I get a map at a kiosk?

Yes, maps are available at four (4) of our eight (8) kiosk locations. Maps are available at Bunker Hill Loop, Poe Run Path Trailhead, Still Hollow Loop Parking Lot 6, and Parking Lot 3.

6. What if I get lost?

If you get lost, call 423-209-5350 and reference a bunker number or landmark to help park staff locate you.

7. What is the easiest trail to hike?

Poe Run Path is considered the easiest trail to hike.

8. Are hikers allowed on the bike trails?

Yes, but please be courteous of all riders and give them the right of way.

9. Can I take my dog on the bike trail?

Yes, all leashed pets are welcome.

10. How does Atlas Mountain Bike Trail work?

Atlas is an advance trail so ride within your limits. This trail closes an hour before the park closes. 

11. Are the pet waste stations free?

Yes, as a courtesy to park patrons, pet waste stations are free and located throughout the park.

12. Are there trashcans available for pet waste disposal?

Yes, each pet waste station has a trash can available for waste disposal.

13. Can I reserve a picnic area?

No, all picnic areas in Enterprise South Nature Park are first come first serve.

14. Is grilling allowed?

No. Grilling and Open Flames are prohibited in Enterprise South Nature Park.

15. Can I remove vegetation or wildlife from the park?

No vegetation or wildlife is allowed to be removed from Enterprise South Nature Park.

16. Can I go inside a bunker?

Yes, Bunkers #28 and #50 are open to the public for viewing. All other bunkers are closed to the public.

17. What were the bunkers used for?

The bunkers were previously part of the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant. The bunkers were used to store explosives during the days TNT was manufactured on the site.

18. Do your water fountains have a bottle refill station?

There currently are no bottle refill stations at our water fountains.
