3. Are pets allowed at Chester Frost Park?

Leashed pets accompanied by their owners are welcomed everywhere at Chester Frost Park except on the Beach. The beach area is restricted to service animals only. If a pet demonstrates aggressive behavior toward another pet or park patron or has excessive barking you may be asked to leave the park. Owners must also clean up after their pets.

4. Are grills allowed at Chester Frost Park?

Outside/Personal Grills are NOT ALLOWED at Chester Frost Park.  There are Grills available for public use throughout Chester Frost Park.

5. How much does it cost to use the Beach or Day Use Areas at Chester Frost Park?

Free. 

There is no charge to use the Beach or the Day Use Areas at Chester Frost Park. 

Camping Fees, Shelter Rental Fees, or Pavilion Rental Fees are the standard fees charged at Chester Frost Park.

6. Does Chester Frost Park have WIFI? If so, What is the Password?

Yes. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout Chester Frost Park. The signal strength may vary depending on the demand, your location in the park, and your device(s). Our Wi-Fi is not intended for long-term, heavy use and we do not guarantee its consistency. 

No password is needed to log into the complimentary WiFi at Chester Frost Park.

7. Is Chester Frost Park and Campground Open all year?

Yes. Chester Frost Park is a year-round facility and our Campground is a Year-Round Recreational Campground.

8. How much does it cost to camp at Chester Frost Park?

All Rates are charged on a per night basis. Campsites have varying minimum and maximum night stay requirements.

* Citizens qualifying for ANY courtesy discount must occupy the rented site each night and must show proof of qualification at the time of check-in.

 (Examples: Driver’s License, Military ID, DD-214, a letter from Social Security or disabled placard)

The reservation system is not applying discounts at this time. ANY ELIGIBLE DISCOUNTS will be VERIFIED and REFUNDED to the customer UPON CHECK-IN. Apologies for the inconvenience.

A $2.00 NON-REFUNDABLE RESERVATION FEE WILL BE INCLUDED IN ALL RESERVATION TRANSACTIONS.

9. Why is there a two hour gap between Check Out time and Check In time?

The two-hour gap between Check-Out Time and Check-In Time at the Campground is to allow our staff time to complete several duties to enhance your stay. 

This time allows for our Rangers to verify that the campers previously occupying your campsite have vacated the campsite, for our maintenance staff to clean and confirm everything is in working order, and to address any potential safety issues at your campsite prior to your arrival.

To allow our staff time to be able to perform these duties we do not allow early Check-Ins or Late Check-Outs.

10. How old do you have to be to rent a campsite at Chester Frost Park?

You must be at least 18 years old or older and have motorized transportation to register for camping.

11. Do the campsites have sewer hookups?

No. There are no sewer hookups available. However, Dump Stations are located in the park for campers to use during their stay. 

12. What time does the gate close at the Chester Frost Park Campground?

The gate at the Chester Frost Park campground is closed at 10:00 PM. However, if you are needing to return to your campsite after 10 PM or to leave prior to 6 AM there is an accessible drive that becomes a two-way to the side of the Ranger Station between 10 PM and 6 AM.

13. What time of year do the water levels change at Chester Frost Park?

The water levels at Chester Frost Park are regulated by Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Typically the water level is decreased around October each year and then increased again around April.

14. Where can I get a Tennessee Fishing License?

Tennessee Fishing Licenses are available online at Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA).

15. Can you use metal detectors at Chester Frost Park?

Metal Detector use at Chester Frost Park is limited. Detectors can be used on the grounds as long as no damage is done to the grounds (Holes in the ground, etc.) and other park patron’s use is not disrupted by the metal detector use. 

Metal Detecting is Prohibited in the cemetery grounds located in Chester Frost Park and the Campground at Chester Frost Park.

Any personal property (Wallets, Phones, Cameras, etc.) are to be turned into the Ranger Station Lost & Found to allow time for the owner to claim their personal property.
